At FundQuest, we believe that when women thrive, economies flourish. That’s why this International Women’s Month, we did more than celebrate, we took action.
On March 26, 2025, we proudly hosted the inaugural FundHER by FundQuest Conference in Lagos, bringing together over 100 women-led Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) for a day of learning, connection, and empowerment. FundHER by FundQuest isn’t just an event, it’s a bold new initiative designed to tackle one of the biggest challenges female entrepreneurs face: access to funding.
Bridging the Gap with FundHER by FundQuest
FundHER by FundQuest is our commitment to unlocking the full economic potential of women-led businesses. It’s about breaking down barriers from limited access to capital to regulatory hurdles, and creating an ecosystem where women entrepreneurs can thrive.
During the conference, Dr. Jennifer Seidu, Principal Consultant at JV Management Consulting, shed light on the structural challenges women in business still face, from market expansion difficulties to operational inefficiencies. But she also applauded FundQuest’s proactive approach. “This is the kind of timely intervention that women-led businesses need,” she said.
And the data speaks for itself. As shared by Joan Ediagbonya, our Head of Brand Communication and Customer Experience, although women own 45% of SMEs in Nigeria, only 10% have access to formal funding. That’s a gap FundHER is determined to close.
Stories That Inspire
We didn’t just talk numbers, we showcased real women, doing real business. Entrepreneurs like Mrs. Adebimpe Osanyintuyi, founder of Dios Dlite Greek Yogurt & Treats, and Ms. Olubukola Olaigbe, CEO of Veedic Nigeria Limited, shared how FundQuest’s financial solutions helped scale their operations and unlock growth opportunities.
Their stories are proof that with the right support, women-led businesses can achieve incredible things.
Business Insights that Matter
Another highlight of the conference was a keynote session from Mrs. Kehinde Olomojobi, Treasurer at Union Bank, who spoke on the importance of financial discipline and strategic growth. She encouraged entrepreneurs to separate personal and business finances, adopt structured salaries, and reinvest wisely. Her message? Smart money habits build sustainable businesses.
We also hosted two panel sessions, including a lively business clinic focused on practical topics like scaling strategies, financial management, and industry-specific challenges.
A Movement, Not Just a Moment
As our Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Abiodun Akinjayeju, perfectly put it: “If you educate a woman, you educate a nation; if you fund a woman’s business, you are funding the economy.”
FundHER by FundQuest is not a one-time event, it’s the beginning of a long-term movement. We’re on a mission to ensure more women entrepreneurs have access to business education, mentorship, and the capital they need to succeed.
With FundHER, FundQuest is reaffirming its commitment to financial inclusion, economic development, and gender equity in entrepreneurship. Because when we invest in women, we all win.
Stay tuned, this is just the beginning.
